wireless access point WAP and WLAN/WIFI

Is WiFi sufficient for wireless connection? Or is any other wireless technology better than it. Argue your answer with detail reason.

  • In Recent decade Internet has grown so fast, wirless internet connections has been grown so fast because of mobile world. Among many technologies like Bluetooth, Wi-Max; Wi-Fi is used for wireless communications but it is rapidly growing technology than others. Wi-Fi is used by over 700 million people and they increase every year instead every month. Wi-Fi is good enough and also provide protected access to users. so it is sufficient enough to be used for wireless connections.
  • Wi Fi technology when was introduced in the market there was not much knowledge about the product or equipment but know it has become the well known technology of the word.Wi-Fi Technology in its origin is trademark ofWi Fi Alliance and originally created as a simple name of “IEEE 802” that is usually used by 800 million people. Now a days, there are nearly 4.5 million places all over the world. The latest version of Wi-Fi is called802.11n that using the data at 150-300 megabits per second. The range of the routers may exceed to 100 kilometers. Yes Wi-Fi enabled gadgets support 802.11n (sometimes called Wireless-N) technology. 802.11n provides higher network bandwidth compared to other forms of wireless networking. And compared to older forms of Wi-fi, 802.11n also offers better signal range in some situations.
  • For years now, many households have enjoyed networks set up with older 802.11g/b Wi-Fi gear. Some even use air cards and 3G/4G wireless connections to cellular networks for their Internet access. Both of these options may run slower or less reliably than 802.11n . There are number of products that which enable to attach with WiFi Technology Networks about the vicinity. The product used by WiFi Technology are Wireless access points which make possible and fast access to your priorities , Wireless adapters makes it more sufficient for wok, Wireless routers make traffic clean and quick, Wireless network bridges which enable links, allow PC card, Express Card, USB, Card bus, miniPCI and PCI, Handhelds and PDAs and expand range of wireless repeater.
  • yes it is, because The fast paced technology has changed the world as well as its habitats. In Today’s global village there is no need to grab the telephone receiver and dial a specific number to transmit voice through cables merely to hear the voice of a beloved. Now each of us carries our own handsets with a built-in phone book and text messages. The facilities like Wi-Fi have further improved the standard of communications by cutting down expenditure and increasing availability. WiFi is best. Other wireless connections are 3G and 4G, but they are often costly and don’t really compare to WiFi. Depending on the size of your house, there are different levels of WiFi you might need. 2000sq. ft. or less can use a wireless-G router, while larger homes need a Wireless-N router. If you have built-in wireless, it will work but make sure any external WiFi USB sticks or PCI cards match with your Wireless-G, or N connection. I hope This helps 🙂 New Wi-Fi enabled gadgets support 802.11n (sometimes called Wireless-N) technology. 802.11n provides higher network bandwidth compared to other forms of wireless networking. And compared to older forms of Wi-fi, 802.11n also offers better signal range in some situations. For years now, many households have enjoyed networks set up with older 802.11g/b Wi-Fi gear. • In my opinion WiFi is sufficient for wireless connection for local use. WiFi technology make it possible to connect two or more computer or devices to share date by mean of wireless connection. This technology is being used in number of devices like mobile phones, laptops, PDA’s, mp3 player etc. You can send and receive data faster then any other previous wireless technology.

Before wifi, infra-red and Bluetooth wireless technologies are being in use and still in use. Using Bluetooth you can share data with other devices but the data transmission rate is much lesser than the Wifi. moreover the range of Bluetooth is also less than the range of Wifi wireless connection. As the range of WiFi connection is around 20 meters. The range of infra-red is lesser than Bluetooth. To make a wireless connection between any two devices using infra-red, you have to place both device parallel i.e in front of each other else you feel very difficulty in making connection or there is no connection.

A new technology Wimax is also in use for wireless connection. it has been designed to communicate at long distance, but it is also slower than wifi. Wimax uses licensed and unlicensed spectrum but the Wifi uses only unlicensed spectrum.

  • WiFi is sufficient for wireless connection in a limited range. It is very secure, fast, easy to install and reliable service than others. It enables two or more computers or devices to share data and resources using wireless connection. It reduces the cost of wires. WiFi is used within the home or connect two nearest buildings depending upon its range. We can increase the range of WiFi signals by using extra hardware like routers. Router is a very efficient device that broadcast the WiFi signals in very efficient way. On the other hand we have other wireless technologies like Bluetooth, Wi-Max etc. Bluetooth is wireless technology that supports very short range and comparatively low bandwidth. It consumes more power. Wi-Max is also wireless technology which is designed for long range networks. Bluetooth & Wi-Max are comparatively slow than WiFi. Thus, WiFi is more appropriate and popular wireless technology than other wireless technologies.
  • Wi-Fi is sufficient for wireless connection and there is no any other wireless technology better than it. It is based on based on the IEEE 802.11and Wi-Fi Technology Alliance so we can say that it is a synonym of IEEE 802.11… Actually Wi-Fi refers to the technology that enables two or more computers or devices to share data and resources via a wireless connection.
Wi-Fi Technology is a spectrum radio technology and OFDM radio technology therefore it is an alternate of wireless LAN’. Wi-Fi Technology based on the IEEE 802.11and Wi-Fi Technology Alliance so we can say that it is a synonym of IEEE 802.11. Wi-Fi Technology is executing by remote supervising structure like as security and medicine. Most of the people around the world are using this technology with different devices like Smartphone, Laptops, PCs, PDAs, Games, Printers, mp3 players, Cameras and mobile phones among many other devices that have the spectacular wireless technology incorporated into their features.
Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi Technology) provides so much entertainment and information than before with because it enables all devices like PC, games, mp3 player, smart phone, laptop, printer and other tangential. The uses of the Wi-Fi Technology contain any type of WLAN product support any of the 802.11 together with dual-band, 802.11a, 802.11b. Wi-Fi Technology is through accessible hot Spots like Home, Office, Airports, Hotels, Railway stations, Restaurants etc.
  • Yes. Wifi wireless. 3G/4G aren’t anywhere near as good as wireless. It also depends on your router. I’d get a good B/G/N router. (I have a Net gear WNDR3700 and it goes up to 350 Mbps.)
or home internet, WiFi is best. I hope This helps 🙂
New Wi-Fi enabled gadgets support 802.11n (sometimes called Wireless-N) technology. 802.11n provides higher network bandwidth compared to other forms of wireless networking. It compared to older forms of Wi-fi, 802.11n also offers better signal range in some situations.
For years now, many households have enjoyed networks set up with older 802.11g/b Wi-Fi gear. Some even use air cards and 3G/4G wireless connections to cellular networks for their Internet access. Both of these options may run slower or less reliably than 802.11n
  • In these days wifi is considered as best technology for wire less connection. Many other technologies are used like micro waves, electromagnetic waves and blue tooth but wifi gives best results because it has high band width, and connectivity is strong, it does not fail due to some little breakage. Blue tooth is also used in these days but it has a very small frequency and just used only for small distances. And if we compare blue tooth with wifi, than wifi is best technology for wireless connection.
  • Yes WIFI is sufficient for wireless connection. The WIFI category 802.11n can support data rates over 100Mbps. It has fastest maximum speed and best signal range. WIMAX also has been developed separately from WIFI and it has been designed for long range networking as opposed to local area wireless networking. WIMAX will have advantage that you have much less risk of interference with other networks around but it’s slower than WIFI . In WIFI there is no cable need, and it is easy to install, use and also very affordable.
  • WiFi is sufficient for local level networking in a building or limited area but at Wide Area Networking level 3G technology is the best for the communication. WiFi best for providing local level secured network. Today WiFi provides best wireless connection with strong signals.
  • WiFi is a method for wireless communication, WiFi is a OFDM radio technology and it easily be used instead of the wireless lan’s. the main benifit is that WiFi is based on the IEEE 802.11. WiFI supports multiple connection at the same tiem and it provied better security other then the wireless technologies WiFI provides maximum wireless transfer speed which is increasing due to the changes in teh technology 3g or 4g
  • Yes, Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) is sufficient for wireless connection. Wi-Fi has maximum speed and best signal range. Blue tooth is an alternative wireless technology, but it gives very short range and low bandwidth for low powered network devices (Handheld). Wi-Max is another technology, designed for long range networking as opposed to WLAN networking. An advantage of Wi-Max is that it has low risk of interference with other networks, but it’s slower than Wi-Fi. If there are no tons of Wi-Fi networks around, then Wi-Fi is preferable.
  • Its depends upon the use. If Wi-Fi is using only for limited connectivity for closer device to device its may be adequate. But for the use of internet access it seems to be inappropriate. Wifi is based on IEEE 802.11 standards. There is time to time up gradation is being held to over come new challenges. On the other hand a new WLAN technology named “WiMax” is introduced which is based on IEEE 802.16 standards. This WiMax has more flexible and powerful feathers then wifi. The range of wifi is in few hundreds feets at the speed up to 54Mbps, while WiMax has range up to 40 miles and having speed up to 70 Mbps. Wifi does not provide quality of service but WiMax guarantees the quality of service. WiMax has more advantages differences over WiFi but all fact depends upon usage.
  • There is another standard known as WIMAX. It works on the ISP network instead of the local LAN. Whether WIFI is sufficient or not depends on your requirements. The basic difference between Wimax technology and Wi-Fi technology are cost, speed, distance etc. Wimax coverage is about 30 miles and Wi-Fi coverage is very limited to some small area. The Wimax architecture is designed to make possible metropolitan area networking (MAN). The base station of Wimax is capable to provide access to business and hundreds of homes, While Wi-Fi provides only local area networking (LAN)
  • There are two wireless technologies now days used.
    1. WiFi
    2. WiMax
Both of them are batter then each other in different ways.
But I give prefer to WiMax due to following reasons,
    1. WiMax was created to provide last mile or larger distance connections for homes, businesses and other entities.
    2. WiMax is more expensive than WiFi but can provide a more stable, faster speed and can provide wide area access.
    3. WiMax can provide connection even within offices inside a building or even to a house located a few miles far.
    4. WiMax is practical and cost effective if the network wants to provide wireless internet connection in rural places or any farther locations.
    5. WiMax is not yet widely implemented but if one of these days it reached further places, we may say that is the future of wireless connections as prices can also be cheaper.

    Example.
As wateen telecom is providing WiMax and WiFi connection
As Quebee Internet providers, providing WiMax. etc

  • Wifi is a good mean of wireless communication for home use. But Wimax is more suitable for wireless communication. Wimax is the updated form of WiFi in a way. Other means of communications like 3g and 4G Wireless the Wimax is more reliable, cost effective and affordable. Wimax has a longer range than WiFi. 3G and 4G are much costly and are not so fast than WiFi and Wimax. Wimax provides mobile broadband connectivity across countries and cities. WiMax is very good mean of wireless communication for business. So, Finally we can say that WiFi is sufficent for wireless communication for personal and home use even within an office as compared to other technologies than 3G and 4G. And WiMax is an alternative of WiFi used for business plans.
  • There are a many wireless technologies like Bluetooth, Wi-Max and WIFI etc. The Bluetooth technology is intended to be used for short wireless communications where as Wi-Max is used for distant communications. In contrast Wi-Fi is the most adequate type of wireless technology for wireless connection as it has a range of 100 km and allows data transfers at 54Mbps and has been universally preferred over other wireless technologies. Wi-Fi operates in more than 220,000 public hotspots and in tens of millions of homes and corporate and university campuses worldwide. It is a technology of future and various new standards Wi-Fi Protected Access encryption (WPA2) also give protected access to communication. Indeed there is nothing wrong to say that Wi-Fi is sufficient for wireless connections.
